send a message with an attached pdf to yourself.
1.Detach the pdf fr om the sent mail (in Sent Mail folder) and compare to original pdf
2.Detach the pdf from the received message and compare to original pdf

If there are differences in 1. , the problem is on your PC
If there are differences in 2. , the problem is either on your PC, or during the transmission. Disable antivirus apps, send through another smtp and compare again. This will probably help you identify wh ere the problem appears.

There are plenty of tools to compare files byte-by-byte, for example UltraEdit (it comes with UltraCompare Light), but simply comparing size in bytes may be enough.
