I believe it's wiser and more rewarding in the longer run to rebuild one's folders and sub-folders from scratch (after having imported the same using the inbuilt wizard) - this allows for a more robust and reliable e-mailing environment that delivers an enjoyable experience. Not to forget also that The Bat! Pro uses it's own unique filter-set which is entirely different from what is available on the Thunderbird.

Thanks, that would be a good thing. Hoping i don't need to create 100 folders by hand first and then drag/drop messages into them. That would suck.

To fix your issue try dragging from Thunderbird to the equivalent folder in the Bat. If you have trouble with that, try dragging to an intermediate folder. Some data is not converted like one of the dates (receive or created) It will show the date that you dragged and dropped them.

I am being vague as I moved from Thunderbird a LONG time ago

I WILL tell you that the first item on the Import list in v5 is Mozilla Thunderbird. I havent tried it

I am just a user, but one who knows more than I, has suggested it might be in April. They are working out the last of the bugs now. Some of the bugs come up when one thing is fixed and it breaks something else.

I don't use IMAP myself, but the ones who do are happy with the way it is going

I agree as the interface and look should change over a period of time and not remain the same. I have been using TB since 8 years and am very very happy, but change is required in terms of look.

I know software development is always hard to predict/manage, but communication is key here.

we are getting closer to final, there were 50 issues fixed in last two weeks. There are still some issues in IMAP, virtual folders, viewmodes and hints, but they are going to be addressed in upcoming weeks and I expect personally, final will be available in march.

We've tested almost 50 builds, since v5 changed from alpha to beta.
I'm quite satisfied ith the way it's running as I encounter only minor (cosmetic) bugs.
However there are those among the beta testers who definitely are not as happy as I am. As TB is rather versatile and I don't use all its options and some of those options contain bugs that are considered show stoppers.

But we're getting there.

I am not a professional email user (I thought they were called spammers) so can only speak from personal experience which is that I have different issues with my various IMAP accounts.  I am sure that v5 will resolve many of those problems which originate at the client end, but some arise at the server end possibly because some servers use a mixture of standard and proprietary protocols, depending on the client (eg Exchange/Outlook is proprietary, Exchange/TB should be standard.)

It may be unrealistic to hope that v5 will be a magic cure for all IMAP problems.  I have several IMAP accounts: some work fine, others are as you say, a pain in the neck.  So clearly not all the issues are caused by The Bat!
