Solved within one day by support. Looks like there was some hidden corruption in my mail folders that only became apparent after the upgrade.

It starts, thebat.exe appears in Task Manager and then disappears. End of story. Totally reproduceable, again and again.

It runs, but sometimes does not start up.
I have to kill The Bat in order to try again and succeed.

Dear all,

Installation of v5 yesterday was a terrible failure. During the installation I got two errors, which I believe were memory access violations. Once I tried to launch the app, the new splash screen would appear and disappear, but nothing would happen after that. Restarting didn't help. Removing The Bat 4 entirely and reinstalling The Bat 5 didn't help. I was forced to go back to v4.

Has v5 even been tested on Windows 7 (64-bit)?
