Yes, absolutely - glad you mentioned that (just forgot about the possibility of a custom directory.) I just perform a periodic backup of my directory to the D:\ drive.

Also, not to forget the registry key to be backed-up (which you rightly mentioned in you first post):-
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT]

cheers,
(^ _^)
Battie

Windows Se7en Ultimate (SP-1) | The Bat! battie, the directory you mentioned, "C:\Users\xx\AppData\Roaming\The Bat! Pwd", is that where all your email and accounts are stored?

i had my email in a custom directory on another partition. youre saying just migrating the email directory folder also carried over your settings?
Hi j weise,

I did suspect you might've employed the conventional method of backing up - hence, I asked you that question. With due respects to RitLabs, I however subscribe to the view that the lovely and unique inbuilt wizard that they have deployed within The Bat! is often prone to failures.

I use an unconventional method that has never failed me - I backup the following directory in Windows Se7en:-
"C:\Users\MyUserAccount\AppData\Roaming\The Bat! Pwd"

My preferred method of backing-up is through synchronization of the above directory. I use 'SuperFlexible Synchronizer Pro' for the same - you may use any tool of your preference or just resort to the good old copy-paste. The only thing to be careful is to ensure that the Bat! is not running when the backup is being made in this fashion.

Not sure whether my method of backup would solve your particular issue (I feel it might) - just desired to share it with you.

cheers,
(^ _^)
Battie

Windows Se7en Ultimate (SP-1) | The Bat! hey battie, thanks for your response.

here's how i made the backup:
old computer, i went to the tools-backup section. i created a backup file that included all accounts, as well as global options.

new computer- i installed the bat, and imported the backup i'd made on the old computer.

all accounts and email were ok, it's just the toolbar settings were back at default. id rather not have to re-spend the 4 or 5 hours i spent configuring the toolbars the way i like them, so im hoping i can resolve this-- thanks again
hey guys- look i've moved my email installation over to a new computer- my accounts and email transfered over fine, but the way i had my toolbars set up did not copy over, it appears to be the default layout.

here's how i did things: on the old computer i created a backup and included everything. then i exported the hkey/current user/software/rit key

I then installed the bat on new computer and imported the backup, and imported the reg key.

as i said, all email and accounts are there and fine, but my toolbar layouts are back at default-- i spent rather a long time setting it up the way i wanted, and would rather not do it again.

any thoughts are appreciated
