New bugs in v5.2

I just installed the latest version of The Bat! (Pro v5.2)..
As usual, I found some new bugs right away (didn't even take me 30 seconds this time):

* In the message window; the "Tags" field is shown by default, even though it's unchecked under "View" (clicking *check* > *uncheck* fixed it).
* Columns in the send/receive window can't be resized any more.

Sloppy!
Makes me wonder if the developers even bother to try out new versions before releasing them.

Split screen with mail transfer

Although I have tried to enlist the "Support" pages, I've found that while allowing text entry, it doesn't allow my submittal - and yes, I'm an authorized user. That is why I'm posting on the Forum!

I'm still having problems as previously indicated with Ticket ID: 49127.

The above ticket was using version 5.1.6.2, and I thought that indications from the 'Help Desk' would have it fixed in the next version. I just have installed version 5.2, over 5.1.6.2, so not a fresh install.

To be more specific about the symptoms, with a less than full Mail Transfer 'window', expanding the window vertically, will display the horizontal separation plus some of the text. The Header display lasts for less than a second, and the horizontal separation joins the bottom of the sized window. If there is room to expand vertically again, the same thing happens to the point no more expansion fits the Desktop. Starting with a full window is no help. Interestingly, turning the 'Header Display' off/on, allows going through the same window expansion phenomenon.

This small glitch may seem to be unimportant, but I used it every day to help screen messages I wanted to delete and not bring into my computer.

Lastly, is there an issue, since I did an update and not a fresh install? As can be evidenced, I'm a long time user and advocate of The Bat! application.

Feel free to join the beta list, so you can shoot at those bugs before the versions are released. Though I'm not sure about the tags you mention, I can't find those under the view menu. I suppose you mean the 'connection centre' with the send/receive window'?

This forum is a user to user support forum, not an alernate way to contact the help desk, so referring to an issued ticket makes no sense.
I'm not sure about your problem, are referring to the connection centre or the mail dispatcher? As I never use the mail dispatcher I don't know how it appeared in earlier versions, but in the current version I can't get a split screen.

I apologize for using the Forum, instead of the 'Help Desk'. As you may understand from my Post, the 'Help desk' isn't working!! Sorry for being in the wrong place, but I'm just trying to get someone's attention about a bug that was told to me it would get fixed, and the application would work like it used to.

Can't confirm your tags issue, I had to enable it before the header field showed up.
Couldn't find it at first, because I was looking at the viewing of messages, not the editing.

I can confirm the other bug, I can't alter the column size in the connection centre either.
Didn't notice that before. The cc is hidden in my config.

OK. I've had it!
I'm going back to an older version..
One that doesn't give me all these BS messages all the time.

One is a server certificate error, another has a file with no extension - I can get those from people using windows that have the "show extensions for all file" turned off

The COM one i have never seen.

I've got "Hide extensions for known file types" checked.
This is the default setting in Windows, and it has never been a problem before.
I got the error message if I started The Bat! with a certain mail highlighted..
This mail did NOT contain a file with an unknown extension.
There were two attachments..
One was the standard "Message.html" and the other one was a pdf file.

That message appeared twice if I closed The Bat! when the same mail that I mentioned above was highlighted.
The mail in question is one that I get from my employer every month.
Older versions of The Bat! never had any problems with it.

Same here and I am on the same version. Perhaps someone else can chime in. I had a certificate error some time ago but it was a Gmail issue that caused it. I have my setting to NOT hide the extensions of known file types - that is the only thing different

The columns resizing bug in Connection Centre is fixed in v5.3.4..
