The Bat! v11.3 Halloween Edition Introduces OAUTH Authentication for Microsoft POP3 Accounts
We have released a new version of The Bat!, now offering extended support for OAUTH authentication with Microsoft servers. In the latest update, users can connect to Microsoft email services (@outlook.com, @live.com, @hotmail.com, @office365.com) in POP3 using OAUTH, a feature that was previously available only for IMAP accounts.
This enhancement significantly improves security and ease of access for POP3 users, as OAUTH provides a more secure way to manage account authentication without needing to store passwords locally. The update demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting modern security protocols and enhancing the flexibility of The Bat!
With OAUTH integration now available for both POP3 and IMAP, The Bat! users have more options when configuring their accounts, ensuring seamless access to Microsoft's services while benefiting from the robust features of The Bat!
In addition to the new OAUTH support for Microsoft POP3 accounts, the latest version of The Bat! also brings several important bug fixes. These include resolving a problem with displaying PDFs in Conversation View, addressing an AV error when using the template editor in Print Setup, and fixing an AV error when attempting to change an address entry image in the old address book interface.
Moreover, we have expanded the functionality of the Headers Pane in the Conversation Thread View, giving users greater control over the information displayed in their emails. Now, in addition to the default headers for the sender and the email subject, users can add and pin additional headers of their choice for quick access to important details. This enhancement allows for a more customizable and organized email viewing experience, enabling users to tailor the Headers Pane to better suit their workflow and prioritize the specific information they need at a glance.
