outgoing filters dont work

Is there a general setting that I may have changed without knowing? To test I have tried to filter "Sender:" on the regex .*, but even this dont work, messages still ends up in Sent.

Do you send mail out (SMTP) using the same server that you retrieve the mail for this account from? Is just one account affected, or multiple? I volunteer as a moderator to help keep the forum tidy.
