Version 5 Disaster - How to Downgrade?

So many posts about problems with the version 5 and nothing yet addressed.

No fixes have been released and The Bat is quite unusable.

Is it possible to downgrade back to the last version 4 release?

Where can the version 4 installation package be downloaded?

I am so disappointed, especially as this used to be such a good software and these ongoing problems have not been resolved an entire month after its release.

The v4 installation file can be downloaded at the same location as the v5 installation file: click the download button on top of this page or follow this link: http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download.php
Some problems have been solved in betas, but some problems cannot be reproduced.

Yes. JFTR, I deleted the thebat.exe before downgrading and then just ran the v4 installer and I have had no problems since. Personally, I'll be waiting a good while before dipping my toes in again.

Roelof do you know when we will have an update with some fixes (like for example the mail ticker wich disappeared)?

I don't know when a new release is scheduled.

If you like, you may check out the latest 5.0.12 - it addresses quite a lot of issues (hope your issues get resolved, too.) :)

Tried 5.0.12 but still same probs:
- no working sending delayed mail
- no working modifying filters. (Add an "or" branch to an already working filter doesn?t work...¿?¿?)

I just reinstalled v4.2.44 and get rid of v5...what a nice surprise everything is working back again!!!

I have also just downgraded to 4.2.44.

Hope the problems with v5 will be sorted out soon

I downgraded, too. I tried 5.0.12 and the many irritations (at least all of the above plus bugs in "mark as junk") far outweigh and potential benefits. I write "potential" because I honestly saw no improvement in any function that I actually care about.  This release seems about as helpful is Windows 2000 was, once upon a time. Blech.

Windows 2000 was extremely useful at the time, I don't know what you criticize about it. Windows XP is essentially the same as Win2K with a new skin, which is why it's version number is 5.1.
Windows 2000 brought all of XP's stability, it was just not marketed as successor to Win98. Instead, MS published Windows Millennium: THAT was a completely useless Windows version. FortuneTELY, i upgraded from 98 to 2000 and skipped the Millennium crap.
