How to purge the automatic completion list

How does TB stores the names it proposes in the automatic completion feature?
I would like to purge some erroneous entries.
For instance, let's say that I tried to write to 'joe@server', forgetting the last part of the address.
I get an error, correct the erroneous adress and send my message.
Since then, when I want to write to Joe, I still get this erroneous address on the first line and not the good one below, with joe@server.com.
I would like to delete all false entries.

Did you try the following solution:-

not working. history list is not deleted.

It's been working perfectly, here - one needs to restart The Bat! for the address history to get purged. Also for all obvious purposes, only the email IDs that are not already saved in the address-book can be expected to be purged from history.
