Two things driving me nuts

Being a small bear with a small brain, these things are probably due to my non-understanding. However:

1) I use html templates and I have a particular Disclaimer paragraph that I use each time. I would like to set that particular paragraph to a smaller font size than the rest of the email. Problem: whenever I edit the template, highlight that paragraph and set it to a smaller font size, it reverts back to the default size used for the rest of the email.

2)Some of my clients use S/Mime while others use GPG. I've been trying to set up macros to tell TheBat to not use S/Mime but to use GPG for certain clients. However, whenever I send an email to those GPG clients, TheBat tries to use both S/Mime and GPG and I have to keep untagging the S/Mime option.

Any help with the above two problems would be most gratefully received.

By the way, I'm using version 4.2.44.2 of TheBat.

Just tried setting the signature part of my template to a smaller point and it does not revert back to the default size used for the rest of the message.

Right click the account for which you need this template >>====> 'Properties' >>====> 'Templates' >>====> 'New message' >>====> 'Format' >>====> 'HTML (Rich Text)'

The HTML (Rich Text) is the most important part of this template - now, try to play with your font-size.

Personally, I'd make 2 separate address groups for those clients - one for those using s/mime and the other for the ones that use GPG. If you're adamant about going the 'Macro' way, someone else might like to take a shot at it - good-luck

I've stumbled across the reason why the font size kept resetting itself: it was because the Disclaimer paragraph was situated at the top of the email (above the first macro). Once I place the paragraph at the bottom of the email, the different sized font held. Not sure why it would work that way though.

Thanks for your suggestion about the two address groups, Battie. I'll give that a try  :D

Good to see you sorted out your first problem - do keep us posted how you fare with the second one. :)

I still can not set the default HTML font.

Personally, I do not want ANY pre-defined text in a new e-mail. So I deleted all of the text then changed to HTML.

Whatever I do from then on, the text remains as courier 9 point and I can not get any changes to 'stick'.

VERY infuriating.

Did you try changing the template format from 'Plain Text' to 'HTML (Text)?'
