recuperating Postbox archives

Hi

I've been playing with The bat for nearly a week now, and so far so good, It is so more powerfull than anything else I have tried

When using Postbox I had a archive folder where I transfered older mails from my imap accounts to it as it was stocked 'local' rather than using my imap space

The folders are names in Postbox 'name of folder.sbd' and the mails inside are named : 'name' (no extension) and 'name.msg'

is there anyway that I can recuperate this archive and transfer/import it to a Common Folder which I have created and named archive, I presume that a commen folder is stocked localy on my HD (I might be worong there)

and if this is possible is there a way to stock this local folder on dropbox or box so that I can see it to The Bat running on my home computer

Ps I am trying the pro version and will be buying at the end of my trail period

Many thanks

Trevor

I'll answer the first part myself

I tried importing using EML with out success Tools, Importing .... as only the messages were imported and not the folder structure

spending more time on the web led me to Aid4Mail which worked just great and very simple, I now have all my archives stocked into a Common Folder (117 860 messages ....)

The second part of my question is still quite important, can I now move this folder to a cloud such as dropbox or box ? so that my archives are available from whatever computer I'm using The bat

Thanks

A common folder is located locally on your computer, indeed.
However, it doesn't have to be located in your mail directory. So if you locate it in C:\Users\Trevor\Dropbox then it would result in a local folder that will be synchronized with your dropbox

Thanks for the info, I'll try this out

Trevor

Update this seem to work just fine for my comp at work,

Now at home I would like to add this archive folder to my home copy But can't seem to add a existing folder using the folder menu

If I create a new common folder (Archives from Box) under the additional tab, I browse to the link it to the folder stored in Box (C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\My Box Files\Me perso\The Bat\Archives)

But then I get a message The directory seem to be used by another folder, do you still want to use this directory

When I say yes, I get my folder Archives from box but with nothing in it

A little lost here so any help would be nice

Thanks
