Address book backup, Loss of groups

When doing a backup/restore of The Bat Pro using 6.010, upon restore all the "group" and "display name" assignments have become lost.

Display name goes to "user-defined" and

the group assignments are empty, all the names appear in the "Personnel address book".

I hope someone has a fix. I posted it on the beta list. I back up the RIT key from the registry and the entire mail directory (zipping would work)
Sorry you have that problem. Something froze last night and wiped my virtual folder so I have been rebuilding them all morning

Couldn't find the beta list. How long ago did you post it?

Not really in the mood to use the keys.Backup /restore worked fine until now, is RIT falling over on there success.

I always had trouble with the backup feature so I backup the entire folder each night
Make a backup of the RIT key with a batch file
regedit /e "E:\The Bat!\batkey.reg" HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT
Just replace my path with yours

The bat mail groups including the beta test group are here

BTW My issue that crashed my folders was a hang up in windows and it was just at the exact wrong time

Thanks for your reply. I never had any trouble with backup/restore until I upgraded to 6.0.10, under 5.worked nicely. Most of the time I used it to transfer the data bases & address book to my portable from my desktop when I went off traveling for a couple of weeks.

I guess I'll try sync now.

If I understand you properly (?), I should not only use backup/restore, but also do the same with the key in the register? Should that solve the problem do you think.

I also just opened a support ticket (57178)

Many thanks for your comments & good luck recovering from your Windows crash. I'm using Win 7 x64 and haven't had a crash in a very long time.

All I really can say as is that many people have had a lot of trouble restoring backups, and as far as I know if The Bat can't open the TBK file, nothing else can (although I may put that to the test some time, but even if something will open it, there will be a LOT of work ahead)
There are many good sync softwares out there, some free

I use Allway synch myself, but as long as it lets you move deleted and changed files to somewhere for x number of days or synch operations that works as you can always restore a TBB file to a temp folder in the bat to move out what you don't need
