MEMO field, What is it

I can display the MEMO field in message list view but cannot actually add a memo to anything? It would be useful to add a note to a message, like in Barca.

Help file says "Any additional information you may need for the folder can be stored in the Memo tab." but I cannot find any way to add a memo to anything...

Highlight the message. Press Shift+Ctrl+I and save. Alternatively, highlight the message, go to Workspace > Memo auto-view > save. Make sure the MEMO field in message list view is displayed.

This can be done individually. Follow these steps:
1. Make sure the MEMO field in message list view is displayed.
2. Go to Workspace > Toolbars > Customize
3. Select Message List Pop-up Menu in the left column
Select All action (the column in the middle) > Message Controller > Memo Auto-view and click on the green arrow to insert it in the right click popup menu, then click OK.
