The Bat will not open or run now, Suddenly stopped working on Windows 8

I have been using the bat for a while now and even bought a new version in Dec 2013.

I run Win8

I always run the bat by clicking on the icon on the desktop.  Recently it has stopped running - nothing loads so I can not even open the bat.

I hae tried the following and none of the following resolved the problem

1 a system rocevery
2 a repair of the program
3 a re-install of the program
4 a re-start
5 checked the processes - it is not running
6 added an exception to my anti virus
7 instead of trying to run the program from the quickbar, I found the exe and tried running it from there
8 checked in the event viewer, cleared the logs, restarted, tried to run program, nothing in event logs.
9 opened task manager then tried to run program, it does not come up, although there is a quick spike in cpu usuage
10 made sure that the bat folder had permissions for the ALL APPLICATIONS PACKAGES group
11 Tried the windows compatibility program

I then found that another program that I was using during this time, started doing the same thing.  A re-start fixed that one.

What can I do to get The Bat running again?

Thank you for your time.

What does TheBat_Exceptions.log say?

1. Open the Run command box
2. Type in %email%
3. Find TheBat_Exceptions.log and see what it says.

Thank you for your reply.

then the same as the first error that I put at the top and every time I tried to run it.

Looking forward to your guidence in getting my email back up and running :D

Make a backup.

Try the following:
Open task manager. See if The Bat! is not running.
Go to "C:\Users\Ahau\AppData\Roaming\The Bat!\CONFIG.CDB"
Rename CONFIG.CDB to CONFIG1.CDB

See if that helps.

If not, do the following:
Go to "C:\Users\Ahau\AppData\Roaming\The Bat!"
Open the folder "Kamera"
Rename account.flb to account1.flb

Once you do that, open The Bat!
You'll notice folders missing for the email account where the "Kamera" was at.
Highlight any folder in that account and press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+L
This will restore your folders.

Let us know if that helps.

Thank you for your reply.  I tried both but no joy, then I thought I would try again but before I open The Bat I would re-boot and the second one worked :D

I have also realised why I had this problem - I had moved folders, but I will not be doing that again!

Thank you for all your time and help - it is most appreciated!

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you managed to solve the issue.
