Switching to IMAP after POP3 account configuration

How can I change my account from POP3 to IMAP configuration?  I debated which mode to use, but have decided it would be better with IMAP.  I have a HUGE amount of mail on the server (RUNBOX.COM) and would like to preserve my folders and settings there.

When I try to reset the configuration, it offers only POP3 or EXCHANGE.

Is this possible without re-creating the account?

I made this move myself a few weeks ago. I configured the POP3 inbox to quit deleting messages from the server after they are retrieved. I was able to Filter the IMAP Inbox in TB to move a message into my POP3 folder. However, if I send from the POP3 folder the POP3 Sent folder retains the copy. I'm still exploring strategies to move or copy my POP3 folder structure under the IMAP Inbox. I will report back when I find a solution.
