Importing from Thunderbird

I'm surprised no one has asked yet (I tried a few searches) but I'm sold on The Bat!, except for the lack of an import from Thunderbird. I have thousands of messages that I need to move over in order to use The Bat!

Can anyone give me any pointers as to how to import from Thunderbird?

Thanks!

I don't have any real experience with Thunderbird but as a Linux oriented program I suppose it might use a Unix mailbox, so you could try that option.
However I don't know where Firebird stores its messages, so you've got to find that out by yourself and it's likely that you have to import all of your folders separately.

The BEST way to IMPORT from Thunderbird is to setup an IMAP account in Thunderbird, DISABLE your POP3 account downloading in Thunderbird, Move your messages from your POP3 Folder into your IMAP folders, Once all moved over, then goto The Bat! with your POP3 account and redownload all your messages.

This will take a while to do if you got 40mb of messages, but this is the easiest way I know without losing any information as per Exporting/Importing functionality.

Also, make sure you only upload below your Mailbox limit or you might lose some messages as Thunderbird is too flaky to be safe with.

Another and very simple solution:
download "mboximport" extension for Thunderbird from here: https://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/index-en.html install it, and export your inbox, sent, etc messages to a single unix mailbox file (choose Import/Export / Export folder in TB). When you are ready, import this file with The Bat/Tools/Import messages/From Unix mailboxes.
