Show Groups in Address Book column

I have several email address in my Address Book that belong to various Groups. In the Address Book pane I see the email address and name but I don't see an option to show Groups. Seems like an omission to me unless there is something I"m missing. My workaround has been to assign to Groups and also to Department  and show Department in the Address Book.

Anyone else wish Groups was an option to display?

I'm not sure what you're asking, since the left pane in address book does show groups. Please share more info. Thanks.

We are talking "Personal Address Book", the combined book.

I think that what Larry means is that there is no column to show Groups, it is not a field in the header row like Name, Email, Favorite.
If there was such a column, you might be expanding it at times, because a person can be in many groups.

Now, if you look at a name from the "Personal Address Book", to see their groups you have to right-click on Properties. In some cases, extra steps.  A column would be nice.

What I noticed, and consider more important, is that those who are in 2 or more groups do not even show up in "Personal Address Group".  Thus you end up playing musical groups to find their name.  Afaik, you do not have a true master list anywhere visible (maybe in printout?).

Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.  I think I did put in a post a while back about the quirk of not showing up in "Personal Address Book" when in multiple groups.

I contacted support and they got back to me about having two groups selected the contact then doesn't show in the root group, in this case Personal Address Book.

Here is their reply.
to see the contacts in the root of the address book as well, you need to open the group's properties and disable the option "Hide items if not explicitly selected".

I found that one of the sub groups had "Hide items if not..." checked.  When I unchecked the contact showed in Personal Address Book as well as the other two groups.

As far as my original question, Support said that Groups is not an option and suggested picking an existing field to display, which I'd done.
