Two Problems with 3.5

1. Once the keyboard shortcuts are edited the 'view-->toolbars' option becomes empty.

[edit: on restart this also comes back]

2. After doing a quick search the message list viewer pane does not return to normal even after one has cleared the quick search box contents. The only way to restore the original view of the message list viewer is to restart Bat!

Your item 1 is a known bug and IIRC on the way to be fixed soon.

I don't know how the quick search used to function before, but when you press Ctrl= all messages are shown again. Thay can be achieved to by using the menu:
View -> Display -> All messages

Apart from that. This forum is not intended for bug reports as the developers don't follow it. You can add your bugs to bug track, here's a canned response:

You can insert bugs in the bugtracker, by logging in to:
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/main_page.php
Choose 'The Bat' and add a new item.
First check whether someone has reported the same bug, then you can
add a note to that bug.
Bugs that are reported by more users are more likely to get attention
than bugs by one. And the system isn't smart enough to understand
that bugs might be the same.
And add just one bug per entry. Makes everything easier, both for
other users who want to add a note and for the developers.
