SendGrid Settings, How to set up The Bat! for SendGrid or SMTP2Go?

Hi,

How to set up The Bat! for SendGrid or SMTP2Go?

I'm trying to use SendGrid and this is from their support:
smtp.sendgrid.net
port 587
Secure TLS

Authentication:
Use specific settings:
Usr name & pwd
Required secure authentication = checked

However, it doesn't work in the Bat!
What am I missing?

Should I use SMTP2Go instead?

Or what should I use to improve deliverability?

"Doesn't work" doesn't work here! ;-)  What error messages do you get (or do the logs show)?  It might be that your (older) version of The Bat does not support encryption cyphers required by the provider. Have you tried StartTLS instead of plain TLS?

Err msg:
SEND  - TLS protocol error: Unexpected message SessionUnknownContentType ct (50).

Yes, I've tried both TLS & StartTLS and many other combinations
Bat v 8.8.9

Hope this helps

Has anyone used SendGrid?
Or SMTP2Go?

I found this: "SendGrid accepts unencrypted and TLS connections on ports 25, 587, & 2525. You can also connect via SSL on port 465." so maybe you could try those ports, too?

The error that you get can have many different causes, such as a time-out on the server, a bad implementation of SMTP on the server, antivirus software blocking your connection, and more. If you're not getting ahead with this, I'd recommend that you contact Ritlabs' Support using the menu option above.
