10.0.10 cannot update to 10.1.0.0

When I launch The Bat! (or when I check for updates) in 10.0.10 it says there's an updated 10.1.0.0 but if I choose it, it gets stuck on component 1 of 6 and fails. Then...


"Update was cancelled due to an error. Please try again later."

Windows 10. Is this a known problem? I'll ask RITLabs directly, but if it's known (I couldn't find a thread) I'll save them dealing with it.

I tried it once with some v10.0.x, got the same error, and gave up on automatic updates. I use only the "no automatic update" installer.

I think it has been mentioned here in the forum, I don't know if anyone submitted a ticket. In my view the more the merrier. This is something pretty fundamental.

A bit late to the party, but I just saw this note in the release news for v10.1 (https://www.ritlabs.com/en/news/7822/):

Important note: The Bat! v10.1 requires a manual update of the program's files. Please download the new installation package from our web-site, close The Bat! and install the new version over the existing one. All the user data will be preserved.

However, the automatic updater should clearly say that that instead of erroring out with a generic message.
