Getting Graphics handling RIGHT, 10.4 has come a long way but graphics support still lags

I received the notice that v10.4 was a major step so I installed it
Yes graphics handling has come a long way but it is still impossible to save some INLINE graphics. Thunderbird can do it and lets face it, if I can see it in an email, it is on my hard drive. And the HTML and tab of the graphic do not appear

I do not mean to sound crabby, but HTML and graphics have lagged for years. It's the 21st century and graphics is now basic. I used to love the Bat but I work with a lot of graphics and it just slowed down my workflow to a crawl.

In hindsight, it was probably an unfortunate decision of the devs to develop a new HTML editor from scratch instead of using/licensing an existing one. They could have used the saved man hours to focus on the back-end side of things such as more robust authentication, support for more authentication methods like MFA, better testing of released versions, etc.

OTOH, using CEF for HTML viewing seems to work well for most people (myself included), and the Office document viewer is pretty neat for taking a quick look without involving the ever-cumbersome Office apps.

Thanks for the reply. VIEWING HTML in the Bat has come a long way
I have a lot of instances where I need to save graphics out of emails and the performance is mostly good but has some deal killing rough edges
Much of it could be easily fixed; when right clicking an inline message that shows no files on the bottom or left side, add a CONTROL + S. Fixed!
There is an imgfiles folder where all graphics reside but that is cumbersome

Thanks again 😊

No problem, I'm luckier than you as I mostly just use plain text everywhere :) But things get broken in that department too, such as macros in quick replies.

Of course you could try requesting a feature (or fixing a bug?) through support, but at this point the problems with HTML editing have been going on for so long, it begs the question is it worth it...

The same thing happens with both RichText and PureHTML editors?

Who's stops you to use it RichText editor when ugly HTML-editor works bad?*

Ugly new html-editor comes with Chromium engine and that stops not right view of many html-letters that I receives periodically.

I solved part of the issue by making a shortcut to the img folder which is only needed for some graphics
OTOH The Bat updates can make some of my work ENORMOUSLY easy
