Help...Can't get TB to run

I had the same problem that others have described with 10.4.0.1:  In my case, TB froze when receiving messages re: google calendar invites.

So...Uninstalled and reinstalled.  No good.  It turned out I had an old 9.xx installation somewhere.  Uninstalled.

Tried installing 10.2.  Didn't work.  In the case of the 10.2 and 10.4.0.1. installs, TB stalls at startup and never comes up.

I'm dead.  I have to get to e-mail for work purposes.

Any advices?

Thanks much.

To get the stalling version running, try disconnecting your computer from the internet. That way you can disable calendar syncing.

To get TB running well again, I recommend backing up your e-mail data folder, doing a complete uninstall and a fresh install of v10.3.3.3 (this one is rock solid for me). And forget the calendar for now.

I never used the calendar feature.  So, it shouldn't be syncing.  But, took your suggestion.  Still wouldn't load [10.2]

I don't have 10.3.3.3, unfortunately.  I have 10.2 and 10.4.0.1, but not anything between.

Strange, there are no earlier subversions of v10 in archived versions of TB, only v9 and below (https://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/archive-versions.php). I'll PM you a link to v10.3.3.3. (EDIT: No I won't, it looks like PMs and e-mails are disabled.)

What you can also try is run TB with the parameter /reg:newprofile, where "newprofile" is an arbitrary name that will be used to store registry settings. The effect will be that TB will execute with a completely blank slate of registry values (on the first run). You will need to point it to the account data folder and configure many settings again, but it can get you up and running.

You can do this by opening the shortcut properties (best create a new one on the desktop) and adding the parameter after the .exe file name in the Target field: "C:\Program Files\The Bat!\TheBat64.exe" /reg:newprofile

I received a message from Support regarding deleting certain configuration files.  When I did that, TB ran.

Currently using 9.5.1.  Menu icons won't stay arranged properly, but otherwise it's now working, and my previous problems with Google calendar invites have resolved.

Glad to hear that. Thanks for the feedback.
