Read emails keeps coming back?, Archiving

I am having an issue with FASTMAIL IMAP:

When I read an email.

Close the window

highlight all of the emails

Hit BACKSPACE ( to bring up the MOVE TO..... MENU)

Sel ect Archives ( Top Level folder)

2023 ( Sub Folder 1 )

2023 IN ( Sub Folder of 2023)

and hit OKAY

The emails re-appear back in the folder that I was trying to move them fr om as READ.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

UPDATE:
---------------
I went to C:\Users\ACCOUNTNAME\Documents\THE BAT MAIL DATA

Deleted all the files from inside of that folder to start THE BAT! from fresh, and to reset up the account.

I moved my " Archives" folder from the default one that Fastmail sets up, to just a regular folder I named "ARCHIVES"

And now, my problem hasn't happened again!

Hmm... This is interesting! I wonder what the problem was?

Thanks!

Well, It's happening again.......... * SIGH*

I am thinking that it's the FILTERS that is causing my issue.

JUST THIS MORNING:

I read two emails from my bank

Highlighted both of them

Went to " MESSAGE" Menu

Clicked MOVE TO...........

ARCHIVES
2023
2023 IN

and the emails re-appeared back in the folder for my bank!

I sat the filter as MANUAL ONLY.... And tried the move again, and the emails DID NOT re-appear back in the orginal folder.

I really DON'T want to have to go back to POP3.

Any idea why the filter keeps re-activating on its own without me clicking "REFILTER MESSAGES"?

Thanks!
