TheBat Executable, How to start TheBat

What/where is the EXE that starts TheBat? It's not TheBat64.exe

What stops you to look into shortcut icon (.lnk) properties?

Answer is C:\Program Files\The Bat!\TBLauncher64.exe

Well, I am having trouble right now with my taskbar. It had the short-cut on it. My desktop does not have it and I can't access my apps list.

It's weird. When I search for the above Windows Explorer does not find it.

For me it's "c:\Program Files\The Bat!\TheBat64.exe". It can also be somewhere in "C:\Users\YourUserName\" if it's installed for one user only.

Yes, it's common for the taskbar shortcut/pin to stop working or produce strange effects after an update of TB. I always manually recreate it after updating.

Why not just look into Program Files?))

And forget forever about buggy and ugly windows search. Here you go - https://www.voidtools.com/support/everything/
(it works inside Total Commander, for example, it works very fast. Windows search sucks from all sides here, forget about winsearch).

Is it possible to install the same version over the existing installation? I want to do this while preserving accounts, folders, email, etc. It's a long story. I can't use TheBat64.exe. It crashes. And, yes, I checked folders by hand to see if TBLauncher64 was there. I was waiting for the latest version of Windows 11 24H2 which would fix a lot of problems. But, I can't backup everything in TB unless it's by hand.

Yes, I do it all the time. Everything is preserved.

I'm using Windows 10 without any crashes or similar problems, so can't help you there.

I do backups by hand anyway, since I find it simpler and faster. I just copy over everything from TB's Mail Directory (Options -> Preferences -> System).

So, does TB installer have a "Repair" option? Or, do you just "Install"?
EDIT: I did the "Repair". I still get the "Access violation" crashes. There is so much wrong with this installation of Win 11 Pro. I will have to check my Gmail and 1 other account via browser. I need to do a clean install of Win11 to fix everything. Sometimes that is the only thing that "works".

Either that or stick with TB v10 for now.
