Recurring error: "Virtual folder name template must contain %Name", A window with the error "Virtual folder name template must contain %Name" keeps popping up

(using The Bat Professional Edition, version 11.2.2, 64bit)

Hi, I keep running into an error message as follows:

Code
Invalid template
Virtual folder name template must contain %Name

This happens in at least two situations:
- When I try to set "Display Connection Center" to anything other than "Hidden" (under Options > Preferences > general)
- when I try to add the antispamsniper plugin through Options > Preferences > Plug-Ins > Anti-Spam

I have googled for it, but I can't find any useful advice and nothing works sofar. What can I do to fix this?

thanks,
Roger

It seems to be an old issue, see here for a solution: https://www.ritlabs.com/en/auth-forums/forum4/topic3721/

EDIT: They talk about global preferences, but the "Virtual folder name template" option is now in the account properties. For me, the text value is: [%Name]

Thanks.
I did what you suggested and changed the setting (in account properties) to [%Name%] but I am still getting the same error. I also tried *%Name* and just %Name but the error still occurs.
Might there be anything else I need to set in addition to this?

Please set the parameter exactly as Miloš wrote, namely to [%Name].

I did that (copy-pasted from the answer), but am still getting the error.

Do you have multiple accounts? If so, do the same for all of them.

Interestingly, for another account I created (much) more recently the value of the field is: * %Name * (including the asterisks, and spaces after/before them). You can try that value, too.

EDIT: Argh, I forgot how this works. Just having "%Name" (without the quotes) should to the job. Everything else (the brackets, asterisks) will be shown around the virtual folder name in the account tree, with the purpose of highlighting the fact that it is a virtual folder, not a regular one.

Thank you. I have now made the change for all of my accounts in The Bat.
I first set every single one to  [%Name] , but I still got the same error.
Then I set every single one to * %Name *, and am still getting the same error.

What else can possibly be going on? Should I delete all of my vritual folders (from the "virtual" tab) and create them again from scratch? Or is there anything else I can try?

Yes, I don't see much else except perhaps recreating the virtual folders.

A note for IMAP accounts: the IMAP protocol should recognize virtual folders, so you may have them on the server side as well. Maybe something went wrong there, or in between the server and TB. Right-click on an account which uses IMAP, go to "Manage IMAP Folders" and check if there is any weirdness. This is just a hunch, I don't use virtual folders with any IMAP account.

I'm seeing the same issue and I don't have any virtual folders as far as I can tell, would they be obvious?

In all your accounts set the Virtual folder name template parameter so that it will contain %Name macro (see Account > Properties > General). It does not matter if you have virtual folders or not.

I far as I can see I have. set every one to [%Name]

See my previous post in this thread, which is all I can think of. If that doesn't work, this looks like a job for support (link above).
