Analyze and Outbox ...

I have e-mails that come into a folder called Analyze that I never set up.
Why was it set up and is it needed?

Inside this folder are two other folders that I never set up.
One called Archive and another has the name of an e-mail address of a sender!

When I send replies to e-mails that land inside this sender's address folder the replies are mixed together with the mail I received from this sender!

It's all very confusing. I never set up any of this.
How can I get it all straightened out so it looks like all my other e-mails/folders?

All my replies should land in my Outbox folder etc...

Are you using any plug-ins?
Do you have any macros in that account (see its sorting office) that can create folders?
Is this an IMAP account, for which the folders may have been cre ate d  server-side?

What version of TB are you using? Older versions had the "Inbox Analyzer", an e-mail sorting feature which was later removed. It's possible that it got turned on somehow.

None of the above.

V. 8.8.9 64 bit.
Yes mine has an Inbox Analyzer that keeps working every few days. I never set it up.
I never knew what it was all about/what it was doing.
How can I turn it off and get things back to normal again?

Good call, Miloš!

Thanks Daniel.
I checked out 'Other Options' and sure enough 'Inbox Analyzer' was turned on to run every 30 days.

It is such an obscure feature and needs to be set up by drilling down several layers of menus (as I just did).
I am absolutely certain I never set it up so it had to have been activated on its own.

Anyway I am keeping my fingers crossed it won't be triggered again.

I have a feeling however that I am not entirely out of the woods yet with this.
How can I stop messages from the e-mail address from finding its way into the Analyzer folder?

There are two issues. The actual analyzing which happened every 30 days AND
the filtering of messages into the Analyzer folder.

Do I just copy the messages from the Analyzer folder into the folder I want the e-mails in
and then delete the Analyzer folder?

I've never had run-ins with the Analyzer, but from what I understand it may automatically create message filters. Go to Account -> Sorting Office/Filters and check what's going on. You may need to disable/delete filters that the Analyzer generated. Then it should be safe to delete the folder and make everything the way you want it.

Yes - I would just select all messages in the Analyzer folder (Ctrl-A) and drag-n-drop them back into the Inbox folder. Or maybe 'unread' them first if you want them to arrive unread in the Inbox folder.

Thanks folks for your help.
I deleted the Analyzer folder after moving the e-mails to their proper folder.

I'll keep an eye on things for the next while. It was doing the analyzing every 30 days so I still

have to wait to see if it will self-activate again.

BTW it created several more Analyzer folders in two separate accounts!

It also created a bunch of filters for e-mails going to these Analyzer folders!
I deleted these filters too.
