Syncronizing with gmail account

I use The Bat as Gmail client.
By mistake I sent and received some emails  at my laptop. Now these are missing from my desktop.

Seems to remember that there is a "Sync" function that reloads all missing mails from gmail.

If you're using IMAP this should be automatic. In case of POP3 if you're deleting messages from the server, the only option is to manually transfer the messages. Say, by redirecting them to yourself, or saving and importing .eml files.

Thanks. I'm only using POP3.
The messages are not deleted from the gmail server, but since they were downloaded to my laptop my desktop does not download them. They are marked as "downloaded" on the Gmail server.
At least thats my understanding.

OK, here's what you need to do on your desktop: Account -> Dispatch Mail On Server -> All Messages

The Message Dispatcher window will pop up (after the Message Center window, unless you have it hidden) where you will be able to see the messages on the server and select which ones to Receive again. Once you do that, click Start Transfer.

That's for the Inbox. For the Outbox (Sent Messages) you'll need to do it manually as I described above, since these messages are stored locally when POP3 is used.

Thanks.
I get 2 options:
"New messages only" This shows 0 messages.
"All Messages" Only 3 mails where downloaded of the about 20 I am missing.

Gmail also stores sent messages.

Known bug. Ask support why they still don't fix it!

Thanks. I've found that I can set up an IMAP account in The Bat and download the missing threads in eml-format from Gmail and then import them into the pop-account.
(From gmail web-if each email must be downloaded separately, you cannot download complete threads.)

But it fails during setup. Does my ver. 9.5.1 supports Google OAuth2 verification for IMAP accounts?

There have been multiple updates to TB regarding Google OAUTH since v9, I'm afraid 9.5.1 will not work out-of-the box. Maybe with some trickery/wizardry...

However, you could install the newest version just for this purpose, use it in trial mode, and uninstall it once you're done downloading the threads. Be careful, though, as having multiple versions of TB on one machine can cause problems. Best do it on a third machine, or at least run v11 with the /reg:someprofilename command-line option so it doesn't mess with the registry settings of your v9 install.

Thanks.
It's not good that TB is registry dependant, I asked about this 7 years ago. That you cannot do a full restore based on a .tbk backup.
Link to the topic does not work.

When you visit gmail.com, you can sel ect multiple messages, right-click on them and 'Forward as attachment' (or words to that effect). This exports the messages to .EML format and mails them wherever you want to have them. Fr om there, import them into The Bat.

As for your registry settings, you can use David Kirk's export utility found at https://davidskirk.org/thebat/
