"Could not register tab. Error -2147467259", Getting the error when The Bat launches

The Bat! v 12.0.3 (64-bit), Windows 10.

The Bat was doing a backup and was stuck part way through for 24 hours. I had to kill it from the Task Manager. Now when I launch it (after shutting down the computer and then booting), I get this error: "Could not register tab. Error -2147467259"

What can I do to get it to launch again?

Thanks.

I don't know if there's a better way, but seeing I had 12.0.3, I went ahead and updated to 12.1, and it seems to be working. Still interested in whether that's an actual fix, and what may have caused it.

Thanks.

This was a known issue with v12.0.3, apparently fixed in subsequent betas leading to v12.1. Updating/reinstalling is one possible fix, another involves deleting registry entries. See here: https://www.batboard.net/thread/16381-fehlermeldung-could-not-register-tab-nach-update-auf-the-bat-v...

Since TB crashed on you possibly in the middle of accessing folders, it would be a good idea to run Folder -> Maintenance Center... -> Check Integrity/Repair. Of course, do a backup first. If you're afraid to use the backup feature (I know I would be), you can simply copy all the files and folders from the mail directory, that works just fine as a backup.
