images in messages

I've searched the forum but couldn't find enything :(

when I get html messages to my Bat instead of images I see an X icon. How can I change that?

I'm surprised you didn't find anything - it's an FAQ and flame war right here.

The Bat! does NOT download any images not included with the orignal message. This is a major security issue and users on either side of this topic have argued long and hard about the rights and wrongs of the decision by the programmers to remain steadfastly on the side of integrity and security.

Yes, it could be optional. No, that's not been implemented. Until then, anything not available for display in an HTML message appears as an X icon.

thank's very much

I have the same problem. And I was wonder can I change security options that I can see the images instead "X" icon ?

Thank you very much !

HELLOOOO!!
can any 1 HELP???

Nobody can help you. Read Marck's message carefully. It isdn't a setting you can change, it's a restrictyion of the program.

Thanks for reply ! Now I understand :)
And I think that the bat creators (programers) must let user to set if he whants to see images or no :) maby the images is more important than security ? :D

Sorry for my terible english :) but I think that you understand what I meen :)

So Im waiting the bat 6.3 verion with option to let me see the images in messages ;)

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

TB has existed for years without being able to show messages that aren't send with the message.

Well, IMHO times change, and nowadays HTML emails are quite popular, so being unable to display external images, avoids user to see a great number of emails.

I will vote for a preference, set by default to not show images (for security reasons), but allowing them to be displayed.

Yea me too, because more and more IT administrators are linking to external images to save bandwidth. I depend on my filters to weed out the crap anyway, so any linked stuff that comes through is expected 99.9% of the time. This is a huge issue for me, so if anyone cares please consider this implementation as an option to be turned off by default as described above.
