To state the Problem Clearly on Friendly vs Real Email Address Sorting, Spammers use infinite Friendly Names - creating infinite Threads

Greetings Awesome Developers,

I have used every client out there and TheBat wins hands down.  :D

I have only 1 tiny request - but one that really is significant:  :o

Spammers send hundreds of spams a day, thousands a week, to my various email accounts. This is a problem but since I have created email addresses exlusively to receive spam messages, I can deal with it by sorting on these real email addresses and deleting the entire thread.

However, The Bat! does not sort on actual email addresses, but sorts its threads by friendly names. Spammers know this and create infinite friendly name variants, like Russ Boyd, Mr. Russ Boyd, Russell, etc.

Multiply just 3 friendly name variants by hundreds of emails by 10 email accounts - THAT's A LOT OF THREADS!

If The Bat! were to have the option to sort by ACTUAL EMAIL ADDRESS, this would take the control back from the spammers and give the control to the user.

As it stands, spammers determine our thread views.

This creates soooo much extra work, extra mouse clicks and a very cluttered and scattered email landscape.

Would you please consider adding a sort/display/thread by actual email address option?

Thanks!

Love,   :{}

Russ

As you've created spamtrap addresses, why don't you just filter those addresses to a separate folder or even to Trash, saves you a lot of trouble.
Apart from that this is not the place to post your wishes as this this primarily a user to user support forum and the developers are rarely present here.

You can insert wishes in the wish list, by logging in to:
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/main_page.php
Choose 'The Bat! wishes' and add a new item.
First check whether someone has made the same wish, then you can
support that wish.
Wishes that are supported by more users are more likely to be granted
than wishes by one. And the system isn't smart enough to understand
that wishes might be the same.
And add just one wish per entry. Makes everything easier, both for
other users who want to add support and for the developers.
