Quick Search Box Problem, View Quick Search not Selected

I just installed version 3.62.05. For some strange reason, the quick search box is being displayed in the middle of my message index pane.  The Quick Search toolbar has not been selected to display.  No matter what I do, I can not eliminate the Quick Search box.  Is anyone else seeing this problem in version 3.62.05? :!:

Thanks,

Just upgraded to and can't confirm that.
What happens when you type something and afterwards hit escape?

Can you drag the quick search toolbar to some other place, so that it starts to be a floating toolbar? In that case you be able to kill it with the cross on the floating window.

Typing in the box then hitting escape has no effect.

I tried activating the Quick Search toolbar to see if I could drag it to another area and then deactivate it. This action also had no effect.

I thought about uninstalling the program and trying to reinstall, but I don't want to take the chance of losing my emails.

Uninstalling and installing TB again won't delete your message base.
Install it again and tell it to create a new account and give that account the same name as your old account, when you've pointed it to the same mail directory TB will use the existing settings and message base, filters, address book, etc

I have the same problem. Did not install any new versions, just closed and opened TheBat.

Hitting Escape with the cursor in the search box causes TheBat to become invisible (but still running according to task manager).

Using the quick search in the toolbar (not the one middle of my message index pane) causes external exception 80000003.

New folders are also created with the search box in the message pane.

Figured out how to solve the problem:

1.Customize toolbars.
2.Select Quick Search.
3.Click Restore to default.

Manually removing the toolbar or changing its content don't work, but resetting it to default apparently does.

I tried to "restore default" to quick searc, but it appears you can't do that on the trial version...restore is grayed out! Is there anything else I can do? I don't want to spend 40.00 only to find it still doesn't work!

"Restore to defaiult"will be greyed out until you've customized the interface, has nothing to do with the trial. I'm definitely not using the trial and it's greyed out over here too.

The default way to get rid of the quick search bar is by unchecking it at:
View -> Toolbars -> Quick Search
When it's merely floating as a window and you want to drag it to its proper place: simply place the cursor somewhere on the window (where there's no button, nor alters the shape of the cursor) press the right mouse button and drag the window to the top of TB's main window, it's supposed to get stuck there.
