send mail to group

This is a stupid question... but somewhere a long time ago this got broken, and now it is irritating me enough to bother you.

I used to get groups when I pressed the arrow after new message, so I could easely send a mail to a whole group of people. When I tick that arrow now, I only get an alphabetical listing of all my contacts.

Can anybody tell me how to force him to sort it?
