some questions, im bit confused

Hi

Im a bit condused, does the bat! support hotmail? What does this suboption 'msn' (there is help button but no help for msn option or few others).

What the difference between standard and pro bat version? I saw nothing about that (maybe im blind).

ps: I found it inside 'Press releases'from 06/11/2002 what 'msn' do :P Anyway it would be nice to have hotmail support since many ppl use it.

No, in order to read hotmail with TB you need a third partuy tool like Web2Pop that downloads webmail and offers it via a pop3-proxy

I haven't ther faintest idea where you found that suboption, so I don't know what it means.

The knowledge base isn't the most logical place toi store that info, but here you find it:

account properties->athentication->msn . I firt thought it have something to do with hotmail login...

:o

The only thing I can find is that it is some kind of MicroSoft specific authentication protocol, but I can't find any specifics on it.

Strange thing is that autlook can check hotmail via http but the bat! doesn't. I used to think that the bat! was superior in every way to outlook but after that...

I didn't know MS Outlook (MSO) could do Hotmail too, I only knew about Outlook Express (OE). Hotmail uses a proprietary protocol and as Hotmail, MSO and OE are all owned by Microsoft, you might guess there's a connection.

However, TB isn't superior to MSO and OE in every way. MSO and OE do HTML way better than TB. MSO supports shared calendars, TB doesn't. OE does usenet, TB doesn't.
There are things that TB does better like its filters and text templates. When you look at those, TB is competing in another league.

Hello

This maybe helps you a little:

http://lists.gpick.com/pages/Mail_Tools.htm

there some popper tools and some are with source code this can help you to understand how it works. (FreePOPs should have source and maybe others)

By the way I know there no way to import all custom webmailer but hotmail are really big so would be nice to do this. Do your best :)
