not happy with search function

I am using TB with several accounts (4 active and some special accounts without much emails). When searching for an email using F7 or Tools, I find that the system does not respond as it should. Just now I tried to locate an email and even specified the folder where I suspected the email to be. Once I press start, nothing happens except that it seems that the search starts with only stop and help being active buttons. No further response, no results - my impression is that the TB freezes. Looking at the task manager CPU usage goes up to 60-80% and sometimes higher. This seems to happen almost every time so I am now reluctant to even use the function, leaving me to manually search through all possible folders. Obviously this is not very efficient. Please help as this is a serious drawback to an otherwise fine program.

Can't confirm your problems, though I've heard some people on the beta list complaining about the same problem.
Are you using the leatest version? If not then upgrade?
Are you using on the fly encryption? (with or without a hardware token?)

I am using Home Edition V. 3.62.12 without encryption or hardware token.

how exactly do you perform the search (where-in)? if you're searching the full text, this may well need a very long time depending on the size of the mail bases(and then TB responds very reluctantly to the "stop" button) - most of the time I only use the search for headers and that (!) acts very swiftly

I was indeed referring to doing a search via Tools/search F7 and sometimes have to use text as header would be too restrictive. Using Copernic for desktop search of vastly bigger information or Opera on their Email program, I never noticed a big delay in doing so.
Anyway, it seems that since upgrading to the Christmas edition, this has improved  :D
