Antivirus plugin where to find and how to use for NORTON, antivirus plugins

Hi.. I am brand new to The Bat and Im a complete newbie idiot.

I love as far as I have used it, the Bat. but I found out it doesnt use my Norton 2005 antivirus set in my Norton Internet Security :(.

I have read so far that I need a plugin :( but I dunno how to use it, where to find it and how to set it up..

can someone please help me?

thanks a lot in advance!!

Plug ins are developed by the makers of the Anti Virus software. You will have to ask Norton to provide one.

(I already know the answer to this - they haven't written one, but at least your asking will click another notch into the "we have critical mass to make one of these" pole).

Alternatively, you could switch to one of the many alternate AntiVirus solutions for which there is already a plug in.

Once you have one, you use the Options ... Preferences ... protection ... Anti virus settings to select and configure the plugin you wish to use.

Hi Rose,

I use The Bat v3 and Norton 2005 together. Although you cannot tell The Bat to use Norton, there isn't any real need to IMHO. Norton itself can be set to intercept all incoming and outgoing mail and delete the harmful attachments before they even get as far as The Bat - that is what I have set, it is the default setting for Norton 2005, so unless you have changed it, it should work for you too.

You can then create a filter in The Bat to automatically delete any new messages that have a Norton virus report attached.

Cheers,

Rich
