Bat Import/export glitch?

hello!

A quick question here, and possibly a detection of a bug.

I use Bat Professional edition, V. 3.71.03 . After a recent computer crash, I backed up all the bat data via the Tools -> Backup.

After windows reinstalled, I exported everything back. So far so good.

The problem starts when I attempt to download any new messages from my e-mail server. I have it set so that Bat keeps a copy of the message on the server. Guess what? Bat started downloading ALL messages on the server, even though it already had a copy of all of them on the HDD.

Any ideas how to bypass this problem?

P.S. As another quick question that just formed in my mind: anyone have any clue as to how to print from Smart Bat?

Apparently the file that stores the uidl's of the downloaded messages isn't included in the backup. I guess that's a bug. You could enter that at bugtrack:

You can insert bugs in the bugtracker, by logging in to:

Choose 'The Bat' and add a new item.
First check whether someone has reported the same bug, then you can
add a note to that bug.
Bugs that are reported by more users are more likely to get attention
than bugs by one. And the system isn't smart enough to understand
that bugs might be the same.
And add just one bug per entry. Makes everything easier, both for
other users who want to add a note and for the developers.

You cannot do that, but as smartbat uses plain text (unless you're using encryption) you can print everything with your text editor. When you're using OTFE, you should use copy and paste to a text editor.
