address book, cannot save address book

I have 2 machines win XP pro SP2 on a home lan.
On both TB 3.80.03 running. On one machine, never any problem whatsoever wirh TB. On the other one, Import of Outlook express 6 address book works well. But "File-->save address book works only within the current opened session of TB. When I close TB and re-run it, the imported address book from OE has disappeared!

Any idea ?

If you know where you stored TB's address book, you could try to open it next time in stead of importing it again.
You're sure that you've got access rights to the location you want to store your AB, do you?

Thanks Roelof, but sorry to be stupid : what is the exact name of a TB address book file, and where should it ideally be located?

It should have the extension .abd unless you're using an encrypted message base, then the extension is .ebd
The default location is your mail directory.
