The bat not finding anything after reinstall

I just crashed The Bat
I reinstalled but all my accounts are gone. My mail is still in the appdata/the bat folder but I don't know how to restore all my folders and accounts not to mention my template edits

I do have a recent zipped backup but no backups made with the bat

I should add I am using the beta

I got most of it back but lost a bunch of messages - some folders have a "msgs.dump" file and some that were holding messages have nothing no tbb file just whatever subfolders were there

How did you get it back? I'm having a similar problem.

The reinstall hosed all the accounts and folders
I had to copy the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Rick\Application Data\The Bat! to my desktop then delete the registry key current user\software\the bat (export it first) then restore the above mentioned directory from a backup zip

With the troubles posted in here about restoring from backups, a good backup program is in order - even if it is just  a batch file to copy stuff elsewere

I am hoping for an official support response to list what could or should have been done and what to do with those "msgs.dump" files that seem to have taken the place of my messages

Thanks

Rick

Does your backup include these msgs.dump files or are they converted by the reinstall?
When your backup contains messages.tbb files instead you could try to extract them seperately to a different location and afterwards try to import them with:
Tools->Import messages->From the bat message base v2

I don't know what the messages.dump files are, when you examine them with a text editor, what do they look like?

Those files were zero byte files.
