PGP Key Import not working

Nothing is happening when I click try to import friends PGP public keys...I go to import, select the file, and then nothing happens. likewise if it's pasted in an email and I click the pgp key detected icon placed on the message nothing happens....

any ideas?

Ok I just read through the forum and was able to install GnuPGP, modify the PATH to get the GnuPGP radio box working.

But now I can't get key manager to work (the CMD prompt gives a me a "general error" with the file trustedkeys.gpg)

Nor can I determine how to actually encrypt the messages.

I get
Quote
"gpg: 0F390AD8: There is no assurance this key belongs to the named user
gpg: [stdin]: encryption failed: unusable public key"
from TB when I try to encrypt.

GnuPGP doesn't have a 'key manager' as such.
It does it through a command line, and I don't think The Bat can access it that way.

Go: tools => openPGP => openPGP preferences => files

You should see a new text box at the bottom:
'GnuPG external key manager'
You can't just point that to the GnuPG executable.
You'll need to download a 3rd party key manager.
I am using this one: www.stud.uni-hannover.de/~twoaday/index.html.
You'll point 'external key manager' to winPT.exe.

After you've done that, and got your keys generated, you can sign/encrypt in the
same way that you did with the internal implementation of PGP.

awesome that worked!

Any modern key manager that I could use with the bat!?

The above doesnt exist anymore
Thank you
