IMAP just too many hassles

after so many years, thebat IMAP functionality is still weird. it's so hard to make it work at least somehow. folders are not synchronised, unless you manually clear the cache (which just does NOT clear with [x] Clear cached messages on exit).. What I found, in earlier versions, IMAP account STOPS working on second use. So when i close the account and reopen it, the synchronization starts, but in connection center window i see no activity, only the task, but no actions. I tried many builds, and 3.80.06 or less is the only one working. So i cant upgrade now, because without IMAP working this client is useless. The software is becomming buggy btw. So FEEEEW new functions over years introduced, but bugs they are:(

the software is so buggy now... and nothing new in there for years:( old functions stop working step by step.. its uncomfortable to use it now.
- IMAP not working from the beginning
- quick filter doesnt work properly anymore. if you type "peter", it will filter "pet" and will not use characters "er" anymore. then you type "er" and it will add just character "e"
- images not displayed and noone noticed for 2 years. instead of image, sometimes it makes a big delay and instead of image (which is OK) it shows some letters.
- last position in message list not preserved. you switch between folders and it will move selection to the end of your list - really uncomfortable to scrol back
- another stupid feature: when you start writing new message, there is history in To: edit box with autofill function. you write couple of letters and it will fill it with last addresses. thats fine but then if you want to use just the first address and remove rest of the string and switch to another windows part, the edit box will restore with all the addresses. so again you have to remove addresses.
- "From" edit box doesnt have this history working at all
- another hot new stupid feature: when you reply to some message where the "To:" address contains regional characters, it will enclose the name with backslashes. E.g. it converts '"Jana Varná" <...>' to '"\"Jana Varná\"" <...>'. Why the hell??

BTW its neccessary to restart thebat regurarly for some functions to start working again (images, IMAP).

- which quick filter You are talking about? Do You mean "Quick search"?

- not displayed images - what format of messages You are talking about?

- From field has no history, addresses from existing accounts are suggested in drop-down

- I have no problem with storing message list position in  folder for years

- ad another stupid feature - are You using template which has %TO macro included? If Yes, another macro %MODIFYONCE(macro...) is needed

- about backslashes - in past, i have discovered this is problem in messages written by MS OE, where backslashes are included in address, so TB did not convert anything, they were there in source of message in base64 encoded header

- yes the quick filter. i remember it waited for you full input before. im very quick in typing and still it filters bad (and skips lasts characters which is really strange!!)
- its normal JPGs. many many of them are not displayed with internal viewer. when i click on the tab, after couple of seconds "??????" is displayed instead of image.
- form field: i know - i have fake accounts just to have some extra addresses in drop-down. this is maybe special usage of mine, but i'd prefer to have history
- it means you dont have thousands of messages. what i found, more you go to bottom in folder list, less precious is the current message selection savement. so in first couple of folders, selection is restored fine. i middle of folders (i have lets say 100 in total for all accounts), selection is moved a bit down. and in the end of the folder list, selection is moved by thousands of messages.

- i will investigate headers. but normally thebat doesnt display backslashes. they are added on Reply.
