3.99.3 is looking VERY good. Most of the IMAP issues are worked out according to they who use IMAP

I don't pretend to know "the date" but it is certainly coming to the finish line

If it has external pictures it will have an attached HTML file. Double click it and it will load in your browser. I dodn't care for this at first but have gotten used to it as it only applies to external images

I can send you a nicely formatted email and as long as the pictures are attached it will display correctly so this only applies to emails using hot linked pictures. That is usually advertisements although admittedly there are some ads coming in where viewing those pics would be helpful

downloading images should be one of major changes in V4, as I think, we will see V4 this year, because The Bat! has 10th anniversary :-)

What about license policy?

I'm gonna buy The Bat! because I'm satisfied in using the Trial. But if I'll buy now the 3.99.3 then I can upgrade for free to 4.xx when it'll be realesed? If you know, like Kaspersky license policy? Or I'll have to pay for the upgrade?

Same thing here, I will buy 3.99.3 now if I will get free upgrade to version 4, otherwise I will end up with the outdated product withing a couple of month.

It would be great if someone from RITLabs could comment on this?

I'd also like to know about this, since I'm considering upgrading my v2 key.  But I don't want to upgrade it to v3 to have it outdated and needing a new upgrade within the next few weeks. :)

If you don't know a licence policy like Kaspersky one is a great thing. You buy 1 or 2 year of use for the product, no matter wich version. You can use older 5th, latest 6th and if before you licence ending time they'll release 7th and even 8th or 9th you can download and use! You always have the right to have the last product upgrade if your licence is still valid. And when it's time to renew your licence you'll pay only the renewal fee.

Have RITLabs the same policy?

There's a big difference between the products delivered by Ritlabs and Kaspersky.
Kaspersky is selling maintenance contracts, you don't buy a virus scanner, but you take a subscription to virus updates and that's what you're paying for, for a limited time.
Ritlabs is selling you the right to use a program. Not for a limited time, but forever. The only restriction is that you can only use the version you registered.
The Kaspersky way of licensing wouldn't work for Ritlabs, because people don't like to pay repeatedly for the same software.

Mh, you're right.

But, so, wich is the answer to our quetion's? If we buy 3.99.3 we'll have to re-pay to upgrade to 4?

In the past it has always been possible to register an upgrade for a reduced price. That's the only thing I can say.

I can't decide for you. If you decide to wait until v4 is released then you have to wait.
If you decide that the current v3 release is what you need in a mail client then you can register now. After all you don't know whether you'll like v4 and if the past gives any hints for future policies then it won't be possible to still register v3 when v4 has been released, nor will v4 registrations enable v3 to run in registered mode.
And I don't know when v4 will be released. For all I know it might be tomorrow, 1 September (IIRC that was the case for v2 & v3) or in December (Ritlabs has a thing with X-Mas releases)
