Compress folders ineffective

Hi all,

I'm using TheBat (currently testing v3) with an IMAP account. I have noticed that the message base just seems to grow (has reached about 75 MBs up to now). When I check the dialog in Folder/Maintenance there is a high count of "deleted" messages listed. How can I delete them?

The account has "compress on exit" checked. A manual compress returns in less then a second with no message. The Folder/Maintenance-dialog also has no effect, regardless of which options are chosen. The integrity check and the check for duplicates work, a few duplicates already turned up. The number of "deleted", however, stays the same.

TheBat has already gotten terribly slow. I assume this is due to the huge size of the folders, which reside on a network drive. How can I get them small again?

Regards,
Alto

You have to purge the deleted messages from the message
base and maintenance dialog should be able to that
nicely.

Have you tried a maintenance on a local copy of your
message base? I have done that a couple of times.
It worked for me. You have to be very careful though.

I have over 18k messages claiming 981Mb disk space.
Only delay I see is when I start the The Bat,
because it counts all the messages. Full maintenance
takes a couple of minutes as well. Other than that
it is pretty reactive.
