Threaded Reply, How to get my reply in a thread

As you might have guessed I'm new to TB, but finding the help file hard going :(

Lets say my friend Greg emails me.
I have a folder where incoming emails from Greg are automatically filtered to.

I reply to his email, but my reply goes into the Sent Mail folder - how do I get it into the Greg folder ?
I can't belive that I have to create a load of filters on the Sent Mail folder which replicate the filters on the Inbox.
It must be normal behaviour to reply to a message and expect the reply to be threaded to the original ?

There is a standing wish to have messages stored in the folder they were created (as an option), but the developers haven't honored that wish.

Until then you've go to manage it with outgoing filters.

My solution to this problem is to change my filters from "Sender" to "Header" for each of the incoming filters, then select the Sent Mail folder, click "re-filter," and check off "Incoming" on the first filter dialog. Works perfectly. It would be nicer to be able to define a filter as both incoming and outgoing but this takes care of it in the meantime.

I wonder if a way around it is to auto cc myself a copy of my reply, thus when it comes back in the email will be picked up and routed corrctly (by using header rather than sender).

Is it possible to set up TB to auto cc a copy of my outgoing mail to myself ?

It's possible to auto cc your outgoing messages to yourself. Add the macro:
%CC='your address'%-
to your templates. Or use the %BCC macro. You can find your templates at:
Account -> Properties -> Templates
Note that if you only add this macro to your new message template, that replies and forwards won't be cc'd.
