Copy from HTML email will not paste into another application

I have tried to copy text from a HTML formatted email, used both the hot key (Control-Ins) and the Right click menu to copy the selected text. Go to the next application (askSam) and then selected the paste from the menu. Nothing, nada. Could not insert text with or wothout formatting.

Doublecheck the procedure no joy.

Since this was on  an IMAP account I grabbed another email client and no problem with the troublesome email.

Then I went back and tried another email newsletter, same problem.

OS: WinXP Pro SP2
The Bat!: 3.99.3 Home Edition

Has anyone thoughts as to possible fix, or what I am doing wrong?

TIA

Update, found if the email is previewed then the problem exists. If opened in a browser then a copy and paste of the text is possible.

Opening in browser (either saving first or by launch browser) seems to get around the problem.

Food for thought.

It sounds like a great idea the need to use an external program to do a basic task such as copy paste.

Dad has been having different troubles with copy/paste from The Bat! to other apps. Some of the text gets duplicated. Below is an example.
