Reply in same format as received, How do I automatically reply in same format

Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing that automatically sets the format of the reply message to the same format as the original received message

EXP.  I get an HTML message, Reply brings up empty html message

EXP.  I get a Plain text message. Reply brings up an empty plaint text message.

Thanks
Rick

You can set the format at:
Options -> Preferences -> Viewer/Editor

You can create empty messages by adapting your reply templates.

I looked at those settings, although i can't figure out how to make that do what I need. Ffor example, I get a yahoo group message and it comes into my mailbox as an html message (even though it will only accept a plain text message from me.  Weird, I know.

If I send the html message which happens automatically, the message gets sent back to me.

I want to be able to set plain text as the default for everthing when I REPLY, not just when I create a new message.  How can I do that.

Thanks much

Rick

At the bottom of:
Options -> Preferences -> Viewer/Editor
there's this option 'Reply to HTML in plain text' that will cause all of your replies to gout as plain text.
My preferred option is to view HTML messages and alternative layout messages both as 'plain text version and HTML', that'll give you a tab in the message viewer that you can use to switch from plain text view to HTML view. And when I reply to the text tab a plain text message is created and if I reply to the HTML tab (I hardly do that) an HTML message is hatched.

Finally you can set the format for specific contacts by defining address book templates for those contacts and use the %SetEditor="1" macro to set the used editor to MicroEd. (2 gives Windows plain text, 3 sets HTML/Plain and 4 set HTML only)

PS, does anybody have a book out that goes into more detail about using this program?

You could browse through the FAQ. There's some neat stuff hidden there.
