Folders disappeared after upgrade, Upgrade 3.99.29 folders disappear

This morning the Bat upgraded itself automatically on lauch to 3.99.29. Now all my folders other than inbox, sent, trash and outbox have disappeared.

I tried Ctrl Alt Shift L but it didn't do anything.

The folders are still there on my drive, and the directory setting in the Account Properties is pointing there correctly.

Please tell me how to get my folders back!

in theBat create new folders with names matching the names of disappeared folders (same as names of physical folders in the account folder). Then after a restart it should read them.

But first backup the whole physical account folder, just in case.

Thanks but is this the only way? I have over 100 folders, some of them as subfolders.

Just for a test I did this for one folder. I could immediately see the posts in it  :D but when I shut down and reopened the Bat again it had disappeared.

strange, never happened to me.
Make sure acc. folder and any file inside is not read-only, if so clear the attribute and see if settings are remembered.
If this doesn't help and no one else knows a solution, revert to a previous version and disable update check.

I've got the same problem as Norman except that this installation was 3.99.29. I created several extra folders in each account. Now when I open TheBat the extras are not visible. They do exist on the hard drive. I've checked. I've also tried the CTR-ALT-SHIFT-L, to no avail. I did, on reading this thread, try creating a new folder named the same as one that exists but isn't visible. A dialog box asked for confirmation to replace a folder that existed. I stopped.

How do I get the folders to be visible? They have critical data.

My system is Vista, if that makes a difference.

thanks much

Create a copy of your message base first (or at least copy the missing folders), then follow the procedure  described by bigg one.
In case your folder are restored empty, then you can import the original contents via:
Tools -> Import messages -> From The Bat! message base v2 -> and browse to your copy of the to be imported data.
Note that TB imports those messages into the folder you've got selected during the import process, so you can change the target for importing actions easily.

TB just doesn't forget about folders. The only thing I can imagine is that TB's maintenance (like compressing on exit) was interrupted either by some program you've got installed or by powering the computer down.
With every maintenance action TB updates things like the lasat read message and such and those folder related things are stored in the account.flb files, those files are also the way that TB remembers all created folders. So when the account.flb file gets corrupted your extra folders get lost.
So please don't interrupt TB when it's busy with folder maintenance.
