Mail database keeps growing and growing, Problem with .EBB files size

Deleting a message means that you mark it as deleted, not that you actually remove it from the message base. (That's common practice for databases and messagebases.) To actually remove them, you need to compress the message base.

Folder -> Maintenance Centre -> Select all folders and select Compress, now press start
