Thread Error : The handle is invalid (6)

Using the latest upgrade (4.014) and am getting the following error message when trying to compose a New Message:

"Thread Error : The handle is invalid (6)"

I had been getting this error occasionaly in my 3.x versions too but on restarting The Bat! all was OK.

Now I just can't send an e-mail at all. As soon as I click in the editor window to write the e-mail this message pops up!

Thank goodness I still have my last 3x version. I can see me going back to a working TB version. TB4 seems to have had a somewhat premature birth I think  :(

Does ANYONE have an idea of how to remedy the problem with this error - before I switch back to TB3 ?

A couple of months have passed and the problem continues

I had switched back to TB 3.99 (and still got the above error messages. Today I decided to give TB 4.0.24 another try and ... Damn! Still the same problem

Does anyone know what this is all about? Any advice will be very much appreciated.

I hate having to shut down TB (from Task manager) because clicking OK on any dialog window just repeats the same error message

Thread Error: The handle is invalid (6)

I click OK and get this :

Invalid pointer operation

Clicking OK I get Invalid pointer operation
again and again  :!:

I had hoped for a reply or a comment regarding the abovementioned problem but I have had no luck.....

Maybe I am wrong but I had expected some Ritlabs support via this forum (if I am mistaken ... is there any other official TB support site/forum that I should try instead?). No irony intended here, I am just trying to find a solution to my TB problems.

Oh well... It's back to TB 3.99.29 for me (again).

It's a pity really.... I have been a TB user for many years and have praised it many a time. However the new version 4.0.x "updates" may have some real improvements but what's the use if the prog is so unstable?

ALL software may present bugs at some point but in the case of TB4 these are just too many to ignore. I have "upgraded" to TB4 three times already and each time I switched back to 3.99.29.

I hate the thought of doing so but I have even contemplated switching to another client altogether  :(

this is a user forum, to get support from Ritlabs email them directly.

Why don't you just keep using 3.x ?
I briefly tested 2 builds of v4 in a virtual machine. IMO there are no really important new features compared to v.3, but on the other hand the list of new problems is huge.
As I see it, there will be a reliable v.4 not earlier than somewhere in the autumn. Until then, I have a perfectly working v.3

Thanks for the response Bigg One !

I fully agree with your opinion above... which is why I have switched back to 3.x after my brief spells testing  2-3 builds of v4.

I had really believed that this WAS the Bat Support forum as it is based on the Ritlabs site. Thanks for clarifying  mate!

So I took the advice and wrote to Ritlabs support about the problem. Today I received their response:

Hello,

Thank you for your message. We have already had a couple of similar reports recently, but we still can't reproduce the problem in order to be able to fix it.

We have however made a note of that issue and will fix it. Hopefully soon.

Oh well....  Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose  :(

2016 version 7.1.18 on window 7 getting this error. Hope there is a fix because I do like how The Bat "flows"
