Adding all emails in a folder to the address book, Adding email to address book

Hello all..

I have been looking and looking and can't find a solution.

I have 2500 emails in a folder and want to copy all their email addresses to a specific address book folder..

Other than doing this one at a time, is there a way to accomplish this?

Someone wrote that an older , pre- 3.99 version did this and i seem to recall it worked as well but now I can't find anything that allows extracting all the emails in a folder!

Please help! And if RIT took this feature away, I hope they put it back in.. Very important!

Thanks!
Marty

try creating a manual filter with a condition 'any message' and action 'capture addresses'. Then re-filter the folder with 'manual filters only' checked.

hey thanks for the help..

not ideal but it did what i wanted.. think fine tuning it'll work ok!

thanks again!

hello again..

I tried to do this in a variety of ways and it didn't really do what i was hoping.. It says it filtered the messages but i can't find the address book it's supposedly putting them in.

When i manually filter one message it says it put it in an address book i deleted a year ago.  And there's no addressbook file with that name so what the hell is going on here?

Help! I really don't want to manually filter over 10,000 emails to find the ones I want.

You say TB stored the addresses in an address book you deleted a year ago. Are you sure that the name in the log isn't the name of an address book group? That group should be part of your default address book.
AFAIK You can't select an address book where you want TB to store the addresses, but only the address book group.
The only way to select the address book is to create a group with a unique name in one of your address  books. (I did that once for testing purposes only, actually I can see no reason whatsoever to use multiple address books. I can see where it's bound to cause problems.)

Could you post the filter you're using to add your addresses? (Go to the sorting office, select the filter, press Ctrl-C, return to this forum and paste the filter with Ctrl-V into a message.) That way we can see whether there's something wrong with the filter.
