Suggestion for new image loader

I definitely like the new v4 feature that allows remote images to be loaded and shown, but I think the URL-based method has some problems.

I'd like to suggest that, in addition to the current URL-based method, a method similar to Thunderbird's be added.  The way Thunderbird works for images is, you can decide a particular email message is "safe".  In that case, all images are loaded for that email.  This is not using the sender address, which can be spoofed, but the actual message itself.

The current URL manager is just a start. I think they will be working on that a lot in the near future. There has been a lot of talk about improving it in the beta group.

Why not join the beta group?  8)

Rick, sure, I understand it's still a work in progress.  That's why I wanted to add my suggestion now, before things are finalized.

As for joining the beta group, unfortunately, I don't really have enough time these days to do that.  Or enough inclination.  I already do software testing every day at my job.  I guess I'm not too keen on doing it in my spare time, too.
